Benefits and damages
What is healthier, rice or Sarracene wheat? Rice is very popular in East Asia countries. The Saracen wheat, meanwhile, enjoys good reputation among the Slavic peoples. Next you will find information about the benefits and damages of each of these cereals.
The benefits of rice
Integral rice is a cereal that is only processed from the hard exterior shell. Thanks to it, most of its valuable properties are preserved, especially vitamin, fiber and mineral content. On the other hand, white rice, which has been subjected to an intense cleaning process, is actually the endosperm itself, which mainly contains starch.
Unlike comprehensive rice, white rice preserved more time once the container is opened. This is due to fat content, which is greater in less clean grains. Fats oxidize in contact with the air.
This little disadvantage of integral rice is a drop in the ocean compared to the benefits of its consumption. Thanks to its high fiber content and its fairly low glycemic index (55), it provides a longer feeling of satiety. In addition, integral rice is a warehouse of vitamins and minerals.
It mainly contains phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, iron, copper and a small amount of iodine. Among the vitamins, it is worth mentioning those of Group B, especially B1, B3 and B6. The white rice, although much poorer in the content of minerals and vitamins, does not lack advantages. First of all, it is easy to digest. Therefore, it is an excellent food for recuperators and those suffering from intestinal cold.
However, you have to be careful when consuming white rice because its IG is 70. The ideal time to consume it is after having finished training. White rice is excellent to recover muscle glycogen reserves.
An excellent option is wild rice, whose grains contain 4 times more fiber than white rice, favor digestion and accelerate metabolism. It has a fairly low IG (35). Basmanti rice has a slightly superior IG (50). Jasmine rice, rich in potassium and group B vitamins, is also recommended. As the name implies, he knows Jasmine.
This variety is especially recommended for people with hypertension and heart and cardiovascular diseases. Its IG index is 60. Steam rice is an intermediate rice between white and integral. His name refers to the heat treatment to which he is subjected.
As a result, some nutrients move from the inside of the grain. The IG of this rice ranges between 50 and 70. Steamed rice is a great solution for the people who do not like integral rice and want to contribute to the organism nutrients that are not found in white rice.
Saracen wheat benefits
Saracen wheat is a fairly good source of carbohydrates and proteins. Sarracene wheat protein is better digested than that of other cereals, has the same nutritional value as the protein of vegetables (peas, soybeans) and is rich in the amino acids lysine and tryptophan, which the organism does not produce.
In addition, Saracen wheat contains vitamins B1, B2, PP and certain minerals such as: calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, nickel, copper, zinc and iodine. In addition, Saracen wheat is an excellent source of silicon. The lack of silicon in the diet causes heart disease, brain spills, varicose veins, bleeding gums, bone and joint diseases, hair loss, brittle nails, fatigue. The saddlebon also contains antioxidants such as routine, quercetin, pelagmina and procyanidine.
Thanks to them, it reinforces blood vessels and increases their pond. It can also prevent the formation of varicose veins and swelling. Saracen wheat has anticoagulant properties. Other benefits of this cereal are the slowdown of the aging process, the action that favors the immunity of the organism, and even hormonal regulation and antibacterial therapy. All thanks to its antioxidant content.
The Sarracene wheat, due to its high fiber content and its low glycemic index, is recommended for people who follow a diet and suffer diabetes. In addition, this cereal is also composed of D-Chiro-Usitol, a compound involved in the correct action of insulin. In addition, it does not contain gluten, so it can be consumed by celiac people.
In stores you can find two types of Sarracene wheat: without toast and roasted. The latter is less valuable because some vitamins are lost in the heating process, but it has a more marked flavor.
Which is healthier and more effective to lose weight?
Rice or saracen wheat to lose weight, which one is better? There is no unique answer to this question, because each person has their own food preferences. Some people shrink just by smelling the Sarracene wheat, while others cannot even look at the rice. You also have to take into account the possible contraindications of eating one of these cereals.
A significant advantage that Saracen wheat has is that it does not undergo so many treatments before reaching the shelves. Rice loses many useful properties and elements during processing, which makes it less useful.
If weight loss is based on a mono-dieta, during which only one porridge is eaten for 7 days (it is no longer allowed), Sarracene wheat would also be the leader.
It is known that the rice “obstructs” the stomach. It is not difficult to guess what follows. The same cannot be said of the Sarracene wheat, because the fiber that contains improves intestinal peristalsis. But rice is good for those who want to eliminate excess fluid in the body. Rice is a strong diuretic, and can be undone of up to 1 kilogram of extra liquid per day.
It is worth choosing the Saracen wheat if it is present:
- heartburn;
- rheumatism
- skin diseases;
- Thyroid gland diseases, liver or cardiovascular system.
Next, the weight loss process will be carried out without any damage to your health.
Pregnant women and people with gastrointestinal diseases should avoid rice.
Once all pros and cons is considered, you must choose a diet based on your own preferences and the absence of contraindications, since it will not be easy to endure a week eating only one type of cereals.
What is the best way to prepare it?
How to cook rice with the minimum calories
Sri Lanka researchers have developed a new method for cooking rice. This cooking method reduces the caloric value of rice by up to 50 percent, thanks to thermal treatment. At the same time, it retains its valuable nutritional properties. All you have to do is boil water and add coconut oil (approximately one teaspoon of oil for each cup of rice).
Then cool the rice and leave it in the fridge for about 12 hours. Yes, right? Only what effect does the caloric content and nutritional value have? The described process is an example of a fascinating branch of chemistry: food chemistry. All technique is based on the knowledge that not all starches behave in the same way.
Many foods rich in starch, such as potatoes and rice, contain variable amounts of resistant starches, depending on how they are cooked. Under the influence of temperature, they suffer chemical changes that convert resistant starches into digestible starches.
The researchers tried eight different ways of cooking rice. They used 38 different types of grain cultivated in Sri Lanka. They found that adding a fat, such as coconut oil, before cooking the rice and then cooling it changed its chemical composition.
Then it contains more resistant starches. The oil reacts with starch molecules and changes its structure. On the other hand, the cooling process for 12 hours causes the formation of hydrogen bonds between amylose molecules, which also makes the absorbed starch become stable.
Recommendations for cooking Sarracene wheat during diet
Also with this cooking method the glycemic index is less than with conventional cooking. This means that the Saracen wheat will satisfy the body with energy, but will not be deposited in the adipose tissue.
When cooking the Saracen wheat, like rice, salt and other spices should be avoided. So that the consumption of this type of porridge is not boring, you have to add fresh vegetables, cottage cheese, kefir, eggs, chicken meat, etc.
Diluent feedback
As the saying goes, there are as many people as opinions. Some people have managed to lose 10 kilos. You have to say that there are many people like that. There are also those that have managed to lose 1-2 kilos. It all depends on the characteristics of the body, its reactions to food, the processes of accumulation and decomposition of fat, etc.
It is possible to use rice or sarracene wheat for weight loss, following all recommendations, which will be much more effective and pleasant. However, we must bear in mind that all diets can end in the same way – with the return of lost kilos. Luckily the “friends” do not return. Therefore, you have to change diet and try to maintain a healthy diet at all times.
