Thanks to Prince’s efforts, the variety has been cultivated successfully in America for 150 years. In the 1980s he arrived at the old continent and then in Russia. Very widespread in our South, the ‘Isabella’ also grows to the north, in the Volga region, and even among the gardeners near Moscow.
The advantage of this grape is its simplicity of care. It is quite resistant to cold and insensitive to fungal diseases. Their berries tolerate various environmental conditions, but, like the vine itself, they do not tolerate the warm and dry climate.
The taste of its dark blue berries is comparable to that of strawberries, refined and moderately sweet. Its value is high, so Isabella is often used as a table grape.
