The clear pulp is an indicator of an immature berry, the brown – of a spoiled fruit. Then, keep them in the fridge for one or two weeks. Part of the humidity will leave the berry and become sweeter in a couple of days.

How to eat feijoa correctly

Traditionally, Feijoa eats a teaspoon, cutting the berry in two and eating the heart, but often part of a no n-trivial dish. It is best to eat it raw, which retains most of its nutrients, but many hosts treat it with heat.

Some prefer to eat the feijoa with their peel, since it contains much of the nutrients. Before consuming it, you have to rinse it well with temperate running water.

Feijoa compote for winter

To make it, we need half a kilo of berries, 2 liters of water, about 200 grams of sugar and a teaspoon of citric acid. Sterilize the container in which the compote will be saved, introduce the feijoa into it, so that the berries occupy approximately one third of the jar and pour boiling water on top.

Wait for the water to cool, see it in a saucepan, add sugar and make a syrup with the mixture. As soon as it is ready, add citric acid and wander it in a container with Feijoa. The container must be allowed to stand for a day, after which the compote can drink.

Without cooking feijoa jam (for winter)

The jam recipe is extremely simple. To do this, we need 1 kg of feijoa, 1 kilo of sugar, 100 grams of nuts and half lemon, preferably fine skin. First, boiling water must be poured over the lemon, then cut it and remove the seeds and add the peeled feijoa and cut into several parts.

Next, with a blender, Machaca La Feijoa and El Limón and adds to the resulting mixture previously chopped nuts, add sugar above and mix. Then, you have to wait for the mixture to cool, put it in a bowl and leave it in a dark and fresh place. After a while, the jam will be ready.

Classic Feijoa recipe with sugar (for winter)

The recipe is very simple: you will only need a kilo of berries and a kilo of sugar. First you have to wash the berries well and cut their ends. Then we pass the fruit through a meat chopper or crush it with a blender.

Next, we add granulated sugar to the berries and mix everything. After a while, when the sugar has been completely dissolved, the jam will be ready. It only remains to put the jam in jars.
