People are attracted to exotic fruits for their novelty and originality. Breeders try to develop new species.
The crossing of the succulent grapefruit and the grapefruit resulted in the Oroblanco, from which the Sweetie was derived. The fruit, also commonly called “Pomelite”, appeared for the first time in the 1980s in California.
It is important to highlight that the Pomelite is not an OMG, although it has been raised by the hand of man and is the result of a selective breeding to which we must not fear.
Today, the Sweetie is often found on Russian supermarket shelves, being popular among exotic lovers.
What is a switi and what do you know?
The Sweetie is a sweet or yellow green or skin skin citrus. It has the juiciness of a grapefruit, so it is very popular for juices and salads. The shell varies in thickness, but it is usually thinner than the upper grapefruit layer. The shell is used to make confit fruit and the heart is used in jams.
The taste of fresh grapefruit looks like the grapefruit, but with sweeter tones. It has no cucumber. The fruit itself is not bitter, but the compounds among its slices have a bitter aftertaste.
It is used as an ingredient
- In the preparation of meat dishes
- fish
- birds;
- seafood plates;
- It fulfills the function of decorating confectionery and ice cream sweets;
- Ground peel is used to aromatize pastry, bakery products and cocktails.
Pomelita is smaller than a grapefruit and has a slightly flattened shape. The color of the ripe fruit is bright green, sometimes with a yellowish nuance. The mature grapefruit is heavy and smooth and should not have spots. Many associate the green color of the fruit with immaturity, and very erroneously: their hue does not affect the degree of maturity.
One of the inconveniences of the fruit is the amount of waste after consumption: the cortex occupies almost half of the dulce’s volume.

However, the most important thing is not to exaggerate with the amount of healing sweets you eat. After all, the consumption of any food must be uniform and not excessive. The day no more than 0. 8 kg should be consumed, and children under two years of age are preferable not to give them.
Danger of consumption is present for people with gastrointestinal diseases – possible increase in the acidity of gastric juice, irritation of intestines and mucous membranes. Enjoy sweets will not be possible for those who suffer

- hepatitis;
- cholecystitis;

Use with caution in case of allergy due to its high content in vitamin C. In large quantities, this vitamin causes nausea, headaches and poisoning even in people without pathologies.
How to choose the proper mature colinabo?
The color of the Pomelo shell is not a good indicator of its maturity: it will always be green or slightly yellowish. The bigger the fruit, the better. Another freshness factor is smell. Fruits should be preferred with a more intense aroma and smell. We recommend pressing the skin when buying the fruit – a mature colinabo will have a firmer and harder skin.
If you buy an immature fruit, you can freeze it, but you should not have abolish or spots. A too bright skin indicates that the fruit has been treated with wax. It is better to choose a fruit that does not seem too peeled.
How do you pee and eat a colinabo?
No special knowledge or skills are needed to enjoy the taste and juiciness of a kohlrabi. If you’ve ever had an orange or grapefruit, you won’t have a problem with kohlrabi. Oroblanco has the thickest skin, so first you have to cut deep into the skin a few times and then use your fingers to peel all the fruit.
Once the fruit has been peeled, it can easily be sliced. The body gets more nutrients if the whole slices are eaten along with the thin white skins. The inner membranes are bitter, although they can be eaten. It is advisable to peel the inside of the pulp.
Prepare for the size of a large tangerine after peeling.
It is not necessary to peel the citrus – it can be cut into two halves and eat the pulp with a spoon. Exotic citrus fruits arrive in our country from distant lands, which is why they must be picked immature: the flavor and juiciness are not what they should be.
It is not necessary to add sugar to the fruit, as it is sweet enough. You can eat it raw and add it to a wide variety of dishes and baked goods. Freshly squeezed juice does not lose its healing properties either. The shell is not discarded and makes an unbeatable candied fruit.
For the preparation of candied fruits cut skin pour water and stand for 2-3 days, changing the water. Next, the syrup is boiled in equal proportions of sugar and water. The resulting sugar mixture is poured over the cut skin. After 3-4 hours, the sugar and crust are heated and boiled for another five minutes. After it has cooled down, it is boiled another 2-3 times. The resulting candied fruit is preserved in a cool place.
Conservation
The fruit can be preserved like all other citrus fruits, keeping it at room temperature for about 7 days. It can be kept in a cool room or in the fridge for up to two weeks.
The exotic citrus fruits described here are therefore rich in health benefits for the human body. And its juiciness, aroma and sweet flavor will make you fall in love with it from the first bite.
